Do you dream of going far in golf? Of joining a top university in the United States, competing in major championships, or even one day making a living as a professional golfer?
Then one thing is certain: none of it will be possible without strong, personal, and lasting motivation.
Technique, the people around you, training facilities, coaches… all of these can support you, guide you, and help you improve. But none of them will ever replace your own commitment.
Today, I mentor many young golfers throughout their development. And I can tell you one thing: the players who truly move forward are the ones who own their journey from within.
Not those whose parents want to succeed for them.
Not those who wait for a coach to tell them what to do.
But those who wake up in the morning with a genuine desire to practice, improve, and learn.
Because they have an ambition.
Because they know why they are doing it.
Because they truly want it.
I have seen players turn professional with beautiful swings, the perfect support team, and access to everything they could need… only to give up after two seasons because, deep down, they simply did not have the motivation to pursue that journey.
And I have seen others who were less “talented” at the beginning improve quickly, reach new levels, and get recruited by great universities because they had deep, genuine motivation and an exceptional desire to succeed.
What separates a golfer who is truly determined to succeed from the others is their attitude toward hard work. The first develops strong discipline, keeps going despite setbacks, and does not count the hours. Others practice only when they feel like it, lack consistency, and hope to improve without truly putting in the work required.
Remember: the most motivated players are the ones who give themselves the best chance of building a successful career.
