In any golf journey, confidence is key. Yet it is often fragile: it takes time to build, can disappear in an instant, and needs to be constantly reinforced. Many players believe confidence is something you are born with — either you have it or you don’t. In reality, confidence is something you work on every day. It is a choice and a process.
I want to share this advice because confidence is precisely what carried me throughout my amateur career.
I never had the purest swing or the most technically perfect game. But I had something that very few players could take away from me: an incredible belief in my own abilities. And I owe that confidence as much to the people around me as I do to myself.
I still remember the words of those close to me, who sometimes believed in me even more than I believed in myself. Maybe they made things sound a little better than they really were — I don’t know. But I listened to them, and I believed them. That belief allowed me to achieve things I never thought possible.
That is why I am convinced of one thing: you can never have too much confidence, and you will always need it to keep moving forward and believing in yourself.
