Get the Right Information to Go as Far as Possible

There is one reality that many parents of young golfers sometimes discover a little too late: golf is an individual sport.

Even if your child is part of a structured environment — a club, academy, regional organization, or federation — they ultimately remain responsible for their own journey, ambitions, and development.

These organizations do their best, and that should be recognized. Things are improving, information is becoming more accessible, and support systems are increasingly structured. But there is a natural limit to what they can provide.

Why? Because these organizations are primarily designed to support groups of players rather than each individual journey.

And that is where your role becomes essential.

The Key Role of Parents in an Individual Sport

As a parent, you are the most important person supporting your child throughout their golf journey.

No one:

  • cares as much about their development,
  • understands their needs as deeply,
  • wants to see them succeed as much as you do.

But to play this role effectively, there is one essential requirement: having access to the right information.

Without that information, your ability to guide and support your child will inevitably be limited.

Why “Standard” Information Is Not Enough

Regional organizations, federations, and academies already provide you with a great deal of useful information:

  • Tournament schedules
  • Talent identification programs
  • Training camps
  • Future opportunities
  • Administrative information

This is an important foundation. But if your child has ambitions to go further, it will not be enough.

Very quickly, new questions begin to arise:

  • Which tournaments should they really play to improve and achieve their individual goals?
  • Should they compete internationally? If so, where and when?
  • How should their development be structured?
  • Which coaches should they work with to reach the next level — technical, physical, or mental?
  • How can they change clubs under the best possible conditions?
  • How can they find partners or sponsors?
  • How can they balance high-level golf with their education?
  • What opportunities are realistically available in the long term?

And the truth is, there isn’t always someone available to give you these answers.

If You Don’t Look for This Information, No One Will Do It for You

This is a fundamental point to understand.

Unlike in some team sports, golf does not have a system that will structure every step of your child’s journey from beginning to end.

If you want to give your child the best possible chance of reaching their full potential, you need to:

  • Research
  • Understand
  • Compare
  • Anticipate
  • Make decisions

Without this proactive approach, their opportunities and development may remain limited.

Information: The Starting Point of Every Ambitious Journey

Before even talking about performance, technique, or results, we need to talk about understanding.

Understanding:

  • How high-level golf works
  • The different stages of development
  • The strategic decisions that need to be made
  • The mistakes to avoid

This is what allows you to make the right decisions at the right time.

And often, over the long term, it is these decisions — even more than talent or hard work — that can make the difference.

Golf Elevation: Helping You See Things More Clearly

This is precisely why I created Golf Elevation.

Through the online membership, you gain access to an educational platform featuring around one hundred videos covering a wide range of topics related to high-level golf.

The goal is clear: to give you access to information that is difficult to find elsewhere — or that could otherwise take years of research and experience to understand.

The content remains available to you throughout your membership and continues to evolve, with new videos regularly added as I continue to learn, research, and gain new insights.

Your child cannot navigate this journey alone.

But they also cannot rely entirely on an external support system to shape their path.

Your involvement can make a real difference.
But that involvement needs to be guided by solid knowledge.

Without the right information, it is difficult to build an ambitious journey.

The better informed you are, the better equipped you will be to:

  • Make the right decisions

  • Save valuable time

  • Avoid costly mistakes

  • Support your child effectively

So stay curious, ask questions, and keep learning.

And if you need help gaining clarity on your child’s journey, please feel free to contact me directly.

Because this is where it all begins.
